Many factors come into play when building a fence. Some communities have restrictions on fence height and materials. Some want the fence to be used primarily as a deterrent. Others need a barrier that is as difficult to cross as possible. Here are some things to consider when designing a security chain link fence.
Barbed Wire
A barbed wire strand that goes through the top of the fence. The most secure fences are usually equipped with wire on arms that slope outward.
Color
Vinyl coating increases the visibility of the chain link and makes the fence easier to monitor.
Height
Tall fences are difficult to scale. We can build a chain link fence that is 14 feet tall. Even the tallest chain link fence has a relatively open view.
Top Rail
You can replace the top rail with a coil spring wire. This makes getting over the top of the fence more difficult.
Gates
Sturdy gates with locks are essential for both residential and commercial fences.
Security System
Chain link fences can easily accommodate additional security cameras and sensors.
Buried Bottom
Bury the chain link to a depth of one foot to prevent intruders from crawling under the fence.
Signs
If you have a security system, be sure to post signs to remind everyone that your property is protected.
Double Fence
Double rows of fencing add security. Ten to twenty feet between rows of chain link is the standard distance between fences and provides space for patrols.
Fences are an important part of a security system. Whether you want to keep your neighbor's dog out or need to protect an area from all kinds of unwanted visitors, there is a chain link fence to meet your needs.
